Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer II is a product development engineering role that will report to the Engineering Manager within the Critical Environments group. You will be a critical member of the team that develops and supports building automation system (BAS) products for critical spaces, such as room pressure controls, venturi air valves, fume hood controls, lighting control panels, and other adjacent products currently in development.

Activities include developing design concepts, prototype generation, 2-D and 3-D drawing creation, testing, gathering and analyzing data to support design decisions, and maintaining records of the design process. You will interface with other internal functions and external resources as required, including manufacturing. You will be involved throughout the product development process from the ideation, to launch, to support after launch.




Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    1. Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering (minimum)

    2. 3+ years relevant work experience as a mechanical engineer

    3. Able to apply engineering principles, mathematics, mechanics, and physical science concepts to solve problems and created optimized designs

    4. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, good written and oral communication skills, flexibility and adaptability to changing situations

    5. Ability to write reports and convey detailed technical information

    6. High attention to detail and solid organizational skills

    7. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and MS Office
  • Works under the supervision of the Engineering Manager and in conjunction with leaders across all functional groups. Acts independently and as a member of the team to resolve engineering challenges and to address opportunities related to the portfolio.
