Our Bacterial Technology group has an opening for a Bioprocess Scientist position at our Swiftwater site.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• 1. MS Office 2010,
  2. Technical working knowledge and hands-on experience with fermentation processes
  3. Basic technical writing and documentation skills
  4. Equipment and process troubleshooting skills
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  6. Ability to work in a team environment
  7. Self-motivated and willing to be proactive in resolving issues.
• 1. Execute small-scale upstream and downstream bioprocess unit operation (fermentation, clarification, TFF, purification)
  2. Assemble, sterilize, monitor, and clean production fermenters and other equipment. This includes (but not limited to) media preparation, probe calibration, batch sterilization/autoclaving, inoculum preparation, down-stream processing
  3. Operate a fermentor automated system
  4. Perform media/buffer solution preparation operations
  5. Work with coworkers and supervisor to effectively troubleshoot minor equipment and process issues
  6. Follows established safety and environmental guidelines and procedures for all work performed
  7. Document, record, and summarize information related to the process.
  8. Assist in writing Standard Work Instructions and Batch Production Records
  9. Draft and review development protocols and reports
  10. Inventory and Sample Management
  11. Candidates need to be able to work a flexible schedule with weekend work may be required.
