Executes standard and novel laboratory experiments independently as outlined in test designs, and/or as instructed by senior team members.
Prepares and handles test specimens per approved procedures and best practices. Operates and maintains laboratory equipment.
A minimum of an Associate degree required, with Bachelor degree preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
A minimum of relevant laboratory course work (chemistry and/or biology) is required, with 1 year of relevant laboratory work experience preferred.
Ability to read and write English, strong attention to detail, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, moderate computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; accountable for adhering to all quality, regulatory, and safety guidelines as trained.
Accurately completes all required documentation in real time including laboratory quality control records, instrument logs and test records. Actively participates in maintaining laboratory hygiene.
Assists with troubleshooting of instrument and test failures as needed.
1. Keep lab and work areas clean and organized.
2. Work overtime as needed; flexible work schedule.
3. Maintains personal training records as required.
4. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
5. Ability to lift at least 20 lb as needed.
6. Frequent hand washing, and proper donning and doffing of PPE required due to laboratory setting.
7. Blood-borne pathogen training required.
