The electrical component engineer is a key position for program success. The ECE is responsible for identifying and qualifying new components used throughout our entire enclosures product line. The ECE is directly involved in reducing our product cost, selecting key components and vendors, ensuring best in class vendor pricing and driving a holistic approach to product cost control and reduction.
3+ years experience in a similar role.
Proficient with lab based tools and qualification of electrical components.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience with Schematic and Layout ECAD tools.
Experience with characterizing and selecting electrical components.
Experience using digital oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and other related component test equipment.
Experience with ROHS/WEEE requirements and current exemptions.
Selection of new electrical components for use in new and existing design projects.
Create schematic part models for new components.
Review all requests for components and assure that the parts can satisfy design requirements.
Generate specifications for new custom parts.
Read and understand electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and component data sheets.
Work with cross-functional teams to source and suggest alternate parts.
Identify opportunities for component/circuit cost optimization and reuse.
